Kasthall goes GRAFFITI

29 January 2013

Kasthall kicks off 2013 with an ingenious partnership with graffiti artist Ollio, aka Jonathan Josefsson

In recent times, the desire to experiment with textiles has taken the form of urban action, including guerrilla knitting and public embroidery. Yarn, in particular, seems to bring out the playful side of people and encourage experimentation. Jonathan Josefsson, who signs his works Ollio, is a graffiti artist who turned the expression of the spray can into tufted rugs. Now Kasthall is benefitting from his colourful and vibrant interpretations.

The step from spray cans to tufted rugs is not as great as you would imagine. “The technique is basically the same. It’s a rapid art form, which requires concentration and determination. You must always be aware of which way you are headed”, says Ollio. The partnership with Kasthall resulted in a creative artistic rug which is guaranteed to generate euphoria.

We launched the Ollio exhibition at our flagship store in Stockholm in february and now it´s time for Milan to enjoy his work. For a completely new way to experience graffiti and rugs, visit our showroom at PIAZZA SAN PAOLO VI during Salone Internazionale del Mobile.
