Inside this Aspen villa, Kasthall has been part of a stunning home renovation. Tapping into design influences including vintage ski-bum culture, Swiss alpine lodges and the town’s Scandinavian origins, architects S2 and interior designer Ghislaine Viñas collaborated to create a home that can truly be called one-of-a-kind.
Bold and challenging but still cosy and functional, among the idiosyncratic details and carefully selected materials, Kasthall rugs feature in all the bedrooms and common spaces.
Here, you’ll find customized rugs in Block and Sugar Cube design. The rug’s colours celebrate the home’s natural, Alpine and Scandinavian vibe – powder blue to reflect the snowy surroundings as well as ‘pops’ of green and black and a simple but elegant oatmeal grey background colour.
The “All-Inn,” as the owners call their home, stands as a testament to aesthetic vision and courage. As Kasthall is committed to designing and creating rugs for inviting spaces that nurture human connection, the brand is honoured to have played a part in this project.

“Using colour in a project like this is just like opening a box of crayons! The possibilities are literally endless. When choosing colours for the rugs, I used powder blue to reflect the home’s snowy surroundings as well as ‘pops’ of green and black to add drama and an oatmeal grey background colour that I see as being very Scandinavian in its elegant simplicity.”
