For the Johäll family, life in the Getaway residence is defined by a unique connection where the boundaries between indoors and outdoors are blurred. “The placement of the buildings, the choice of materials, and the interiors all blur the line between inside and out. Each season and weather condition brings its own unique atmosphere. While a sunny day with reflections of the water on the ceiling and incredible light is beautiful, fall storms, rain, snow, and fog are just as mesmerizing. It’s like sitting in the front row of nature’s ever-changing show,” Patrik shares.
The property consists of four cube-shaped buildings, each with its specific purpose: the main house, an annex, a sauna, and a garage. Every structure is thoughtfully placed within the landscape, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Claesson Koivisto Rune’s design approach allows this innovative architecture to coexist with nature. Rather than imposing on the landscape, the design flows within it.
With minimalism and sustainability at its core, every element of this project is carefully considered to be both visually refined and functionally purposeful.
