A vital part of this is interior design, and Cristina has recently completed a project in which the hotel’s 28 rooms and common areas have been carefully and tastefully renovated. As she explains, Kasthall rugs were at the heart of her vision –
“In this renovation, our main focus was on refreshing the flooring throughout the hotel. We’ve had Kasthall rugs previously, so I already knew that their quality is exceptional. However, we felt it was time to give our spaces a fresh, new look.”

Performance beyond beauty

According to Cristina, rugs play a crucial role in defining visual themes and tonality in a hospitality scenario. She continues –
“For me, rugs can do so much for a space. They anchor furniture arrangements, defining zones within a room and creating a sense of cohesion. They add texture, warmth and visual interest, contributing to the room's ambiance. I also believe they can serve as a focal point, introducing colour, patterns and style that creates a seamless dynamic with the surrounding decor.”

Aesthetics aside, there are other, more practical considerations that need to be made when choosing flooring for a hotel. Paola Gadaldi from Kasthall, Italy is keen to emphasise how the company’s rugs are a perfect choice for hotels or hospitality in general –
