Teatro Arcimboldi – Diorama

Vietato L’ingresso is an initiative from 2021, with the aim to redesign the old dressing rooms in the historic Teatro Degli Arcimboldi in the city of Milan. Kasthall was asked by Calvi Ceschia Viganò Architects Associated to give life to the floor in one of the dressing rooms. The architect’s idea was to transform the dressing room into a place of introspection and silence – an intimate and cozy place for the actors. To cover both the floor, part of the walls and the built-in sofa, the architects chose a bespoke hand tufted rug by Kasthall, in natural wool and in an ocean blue color. In the following public voting the winning team was Calvi Ceschia Viganò and their room Diorama, which was voted the best out of 17 redesigned dressing rooms in Teatro Degli Arcimboldi.
