Kasthall introduces Ida, a new woven rug developed by the Kasthall Design Studio. A technically demanding construction in pure wool, Ida reflects a deep engagement with weaving as both craft and process.
Inspired by Scandinavian and global weaving traditions, the rölakan-influenced design is based on a detailed sketch that is followed line by line on the loom, allowing colour and form to emerge with deliberate rhythm. Each colour change is manually guided, requiring the weaver’s direct attention — a continuous dialogue between eye, hand, and material.
As the Kasthall Design Studio notes: “It requires you to be fully present at the loom.”
Woven at Kasthall’s factory in Kinna, Sweden, Ida is produced through a process that brings together technical skill, material knowledge, and experience.
The result is a rug with weight and presence — composed, architectural, and deeply rooted in the act of weaving.
Ida is available in four colourways: Autumn, Summer, Spring and Winter, through Kasthall showrooms, selected retail partners, and kasthall.com.
