Kasthall opens a Store in Seoul, south Korea

Stories

Kasthall opens a new space in Seoul’s Gangnam district together with Lykke Design, a recognised advocate for Nordic design in Korea. The destination brings together Swedish design brands Kasthall, String Furniture, and Grythyttan Stålmöbler alongside Danish furniture maker Carl Hansen & Søn, creating a multi-brand environment dedicated to contemporary Nordic design culture.

Spanning several floors, the space allows each brand to present its own distinct universe while remaining connected through shared values of craftsmanship, material quality, longevity, and thoughtful design. Together, the floors create a broader experience of Nordic interiors, where furniture, rugs, and objects interact through texture, proportion, and tactility.

More than a retail destination, the store is conceived as a place to experience how Nordic design shapes atmosphere and everyday life through making, material knowledge, and enduring aesthetics.

Kasthall’s Store introduces Korean audiences to the brand’s world of woven and tufted rugs, where architectural clarity and refined materials come together in designs made to last over time. Alongside established collections, the presentation also includes rug collections developed in collaboration with internationally acclaimed design studio Barber Osgerby, reflecting Kasthall’s ongoing dialogue with contemporary architecture and design.

The collaboration with Lykke Design reflects a shared belief in the values that define Nordic design culture – clarity, functionality, tactility, and a commitment to creating objects that endure both physically and emotionally over time.
