Created by the Kasthall Design Studio, tufted original rugs reflects deep expertise in design, color, and material. Inspiration is often drawn from nature, expressed through solid, nuanced tones reminiscent of the Scandinavian landscape. Each rug embodies originality, precision, and enduring quality.
All tufted rugs are made in Sweden at the Kasthall mill, where master artisans combine advanced technology with time-honored techniques. The result is a rug that is both visually compelling and made for a life well lived in private and public spaces.
Characteristics
Tufted rugs are defined by comfort, tactility, and design flexibility. The technique allows for expressive patterns, soft surfaces, and nuanced color gradations, making these rugs particularly suited to environments where atmosphere and sensory experience are central.
For private homes, tufted rugs create warmth and softness in living rooms, bedrooms, and family spaces – anchoring interiors while enhancing acoustic comfort.
For public spaces, they offer versatility in hospitality, retail, and cultural settings. Their design precision and material depth allow architects and interior designers to introduce both bold statements and subtle foundations within spatial concepts.
SHIFTING
Kasthall introduce the new rug collection Shifting developed by the Kasthall Design Studio, alongside new colourways for the collection Chique. Shifting showcases the studio’s innovative approach to tufting, using yarn development and pileconstruction to create depth, movement, and sensory presence.

CHIQUE
Chique offers a more settled, tactile expression. An established hand-tufted rug in Worsted wool, it is presented for 2026 in new colourways that expand its tonal range. Constructed from cut and uncut loops, its pliable surface catches light gently, while mouliné yarn introduces nuanced tonal variation without overt pattern. Chique brings softness, warmth, and ease to interiors, finding its character in subtle movement and interaction.
