Hos Paul – Tidsånden 2.0 explored how the present moment can be expressed through art, design, and interiors. Curated by Kirsten Visdal and Per Olav Sølvberg for Designers’ Saturday 2025, the exhibition brought together contemporary works, design pieces, and historical objects in dialogue with Paul Hellsegg’s art.
Set within Hellsegg’s private atelier and residence in Vika, the project unfolded in a personal and immersive environment. Visitors were invited to engage directly with the space, experiencing it as a lived interior rather than a staged exhibition. The composition emphasised layering, where materials, objects, and artworks interacted to form a nuanced and evolving whole.
Kasthall was included for its grounding in Nordic craftsmanship, material knowledge, and a design language that balances heritage with contemporary expression. Within the space, the rug Anemon introduced a tactile surface that added warmth and color. It anchored the room and allowed surrounding artworks and objects to remain clearly articulated.
The project highlighted the role of the rug as a foundational element within the interior, shaping rhythm, cohesion, and atmosphere, while contributing to a more sensory and human-centred spatial experience.
