Ines Reed started as an experiment with paper folding and collage. A composition of lines, textures and various heights that results in something orderly with soft volume. Stripes repeat and surprise through different tones and surface variation. The design builds on the original Ines rug and adds depth and dimension with its nuanced structure. Ines Reed is a handtufted in wool and linen.

If the factory is the pulsing heart of Kasthall, then the Design Studio is its brain. Located at the Kasthall headquarters in Kinna, it is the creative function of the product and design development. At the studio, designers and product developers work side by side with the shared vision of creating rugs and carpets of the utmost quality, tailor-made for their intended purposes.
Maja Johansson Starander is educated at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London. When completing her master's degree, Maja contacted Kasthall's then lead designer, Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg. They built instant chemistry and shared the same design philosophy. Thus, she decided to leave the design capital of London, moved to the small town of Kinna, and began working as an in-house designer at Kasthall in 2013.
