Calm rendered in fibre. Chique is a tufted rug in Worsted wool — Kasthall’s finest quality — where cut and uncut loops form a soft topography of light and shadow. Worsted wool has been combed so all fibers lie in the same direction, making for a particularly smooth, compact and strong yarn. The surface recalls the delicate irregularities found in nature, its texture shifting like grasses and wind-shaped fields in motion. Refined mouliné yarn lends the rug an lustrous blend of tones, while the high pile moves freely across the surface, adding life and dimension. Mouliné yarn is made by twisting together two or more strands of yarn in different colors. This creates a subtle, mixed color effect, often giving the textile a heathered look. Now presented in a renewed palette — subdued, versatile hues that enrich both surface and space. Chique brings about a sense of elegance and harmony to all corners of life. Also available in a bedside format, it may be the first and last thing our feet touch in a day.
