Light and landscape forms the surface. Shifting is a high rya in Worsted wool, inspired by the terrain and transitions that define the Swedish west coast — where sky, ocean, coastline and field dissolve into one another. The rug captures these natural transitions in tone and texture, its organic pattern flowing from light to dark and back again, like weather across an open horizon. Developed through extensive experiments with yarn blending in Kasthall’s design studio, Shifting’s long, lustrous fibres create subtle gradients and a sense of depth that changes with perspective. Available in four colours — Field, Sand, Cloud and Sky — Shifting reflects the quiet movement of the landscape in woven form. Also available in a bedside format, it may be the first and last thing our feet touch in a day.
