On the waterfront of Djurgården in Stockholm, Michelin-starred restaurant AIRA represents a highly considered approach to hospitality, where architecture, material, and craft are brought together with exceptional precision.
Designed by Jonas Bohlin, the space unfolds as a sequence of interconnected rooms – kitchen, dining room, orangerie, and bar – extending visually towards the water and the Stockholm inlet. The experience is carefully choreographed, allowing guests to move through and engage with each space as part of a cohesive whole.
At the heart of AIRA lies the open kitchen, directly connected to the dining room. Here, Nordic ingredients and traditional techniques define the gastronomic direction, while a dedicated table within the kitchen offers an intimate experience of the craft in motion. The same space also functions as a gathering point for the team – reflecting the close relationship between preparation, service, and shared knowledge.
Within this environment, Kasthall’s Harvest rug contributes to the overall composition – introducing tactility, warmth, and acoustic balance. Made entirely from residual yarn, Harvest brings a material-driven expression where variation is inherent, adding depth and character to a setting defined by stone, wood, leather, and metal.
In a space where every element is carefully calibrated, rugs play a discreet yet essential role. They anchor the interior and support a controlled acoustic environment – contributing to a dining experience where nothing feels incidental and everything is intentional.
