From new collaborations to inspiring conversations, Milan Design Week 2026 was a week filled with highlights. Kasthall premiered its collaboration with Barber Osgerby and offered an early preview of upcoming designs by Cecilie Manz, while welcoming visitors to the showroom throughout the week.
Ahead of the official opening of Milan Design Week 2026, Kasthall welcomed press and guests to an intimate dinner presentation marking the premiere of its collaboration with design studio Barber Osgerby. During the week, the new rug collections Atlas and Bonbon were presented alongside a preview of upcoming designs by Cecilie Manz.
Designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, Atlas and Bonbon explore contrast through structure, texture, and colour. Atlas is defined by a calm and architectural expression, where graphic composition and subtle tonal shifts create depth and rhythm across the woven surface.
In contrast, Bonbon introduces a softer and more playful character, combining rich colour combinations with tactile textures and a sense of spontaneity. Together, the collections reflect Barber Osgerby’s approach to design — balancing precision with warmth and simplicity with character.
Developed in close collaboration with the Kasthall Design Studio and woven at Kasthall’s mill in Kinna, Sweden, the collections unite contemporary design with generations of weaving expertise and craftsmanship.
Throughout the week, Kasthall’s Milan showroom became a space for presentations, conversations, and gatherings around contemporary design and craftsmanship.
The programme also included Trends and Cocktails hosted together with The Forecast Club, where visitors and guests were invited to discuss emerging perspectives, materials, and directions shaping this year’s Milan Design Week.
LA STANZA BY DAVID CHIPPERFIELD
Presented during Milan Design Week 2026, La Stanza by David Chipperfield explores how a single structural system can define space.
At the centre of the installation, Lav by Kasthall is developed as an integral part of this system.
